Step 4 of 8
Read the worklist
Every denial in one list, ranked by deadline, dollars, time untouched and how quick it is to fix.
Open Worklist in the left menu. The line at the top shows how many dollars are open, across how many denials, and how much you have recovered.
Why the rows are in this order
Every denial gets a priority score out of 100. Four things go into it.
- Deadline
- Up to: 38 points
- In plain words: Days left to file. Inside two weeks counts almost in full. A row with no date gets half, so it is not buried.
- Amount
- Up to: 32 points
- In plain words: Billed dollars. Bigger counts more, but one huge claim cannot push everything else down.
- Untouched
- Up to: 18 points
- In plain words: Days since anyone worked it, up to 30. A row nobody has worked ages from its denial date.
- Effort
- Up to: 12 points
- In plain words: Quick fixes rank a little higher: a corrected claim, then a reprocessing request, then an appeal.
| Signal | Up to | In plain words |
|---|---|---|
| Deadline | 38 points | Days left to file. Inside two weeks counts almost in full. A row with no date gets half, so it is not buried. |
| Amount | 32 points | Billed dollars. Bigger counts more, but one huge claim cannot push everything else down. |
| Untouched | 18 points | Days since anyone worked it, up to 30. A row nobody has worked ages from its denial date. |
| Effort | 12 points | Quick fixes rank a little higher: a corrected claim, then a reprocessing request, then an appeal. |
A follow-up date you set adds up to 12 more points once it is due or past due. Your own date can push a row to the top.
A row past its filing window, or one the payer will not pay at all (patient responsibility, coverage ended), scores 0 and drops to the bottom as Not workable.
The score sets the order. The label tells you when: Work now is 70 and up, This week is 45 to 69, Can wait is under 45. Click Work or Open on any row, and the panel that opens shows Why this is Work now (or whichever label it has), with the points behind each signal.
Working a row means leaving a note, setting a follow-up date, editing its letter, or marking it sent, paid or written off. Opening it just to read does not reset its Untouched clock.
Reading a row
- Priority: the label and the score.
- Days left: days until the appeal window closes, counted from the paid (remit) date, or the date of service if the file has no paid date. A
~after the number means Yeam does not know this payer’s window and is assuming 90 days. Check your contract. - Claim: the claim number, and where it stands: To work, Drafted, Sent, Recovered or Written off.
- Payer and Denial: who denied it, the reason code and what it means.
- What it needs: Corrected claim, Reprocessing request, Appeal, Not payer-recoverable, or Needs review for a code Yeam does not know. Drafting explains the difference.
- Billed: the amount on the claim.
Finding things
- The search box finds a claim number, payer, reason code or procedure code.
- All statuses filters to one status, like only the rows you have sent.
- Export downloads the list. Import adds another file.
- Pick up where you left off reopens the last claim you were working.
